UGI Utilities, Inc. has initiated a natural gas main replacement project in Easton as part of its ongoing commitment to provide safe and reliable service. The upgrades, which began October 1, 2025, will also present an opportunity for some homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas.
The underground work will take place on West Wilkes Barre Street between Packer Street and Iron Street, Packer Street between Glendon Avenue and Hoyt Street, and McKeen Street between West Wilkes Barre Street and Hoyt Street. Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Drivers, residents, and business owners should anticipate road closures, detours, and parking restrictions. There will be interruptions to natural gas service, requiring UGI to access properties to inspect and relight equipment.
The installation of the new natural gas main is expected to be completed by the end of December, though the timeline may change due to weather and working conditions.
