The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill has announced a national partnership with GiftAMeal, a community engagement platform that converts guest photos into donations to local food banks. The expansion follows a successful pilot program launched in July 2024 across 10 locations, and now the initiative is available in over 70 restaurants nationwide.
Since the partnership began, guests have helped provide more than 20,000 meals to families facing food insecurity by using the GiftAMeal platform. For each photo taken, GiftAMeal donates 1.2 lbs. of groceries through a network of neighborhood pantries. Bob Andersen, President of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, emphasized how the program aligns with the brand's mission: “GiftAMeal allows our franchise operators to live our brand mission by translating local commitment into real community impact. Across our system, guests can enjoy a great meal while helping deliver groceries through neighborhood pantries, making serving the community an integrated part of our franchise model and everyday guest experience.”
To participate, guests simply scan the GiftAMeal QR code posted inside participating restaurants, take a photo of their food or drink, and share on social media to multiply donations—shares can double, triple, or even quadruple the contribution. This Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17) and throughout the month, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is inviting guests to join, and at month's end, the company will match the monetary value of total meals donated, effectively doubling the impact.
Andrew Glantz, Founder & CEO of GiftAMeal, noted, “The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill has quickly become a valued national partner in our mission to support families facing hunger. More than 20,000 meals have already been donated through their guests' participation, and we're excited to expand our impact together as we head into our third year of partnership.” GiftAMeal now partners with over 1,000 restaurants nationwide and has provided over 2.8 million meals to date.
Excluded locations include cloud kitchens, food trucks, and certain Las Vegas Valley outlets. For more information, visit www.thegreatgreekgrill.com/locations. Follow the brand on Instagram at @greatgreekgrill for updates on the final donation amount.
