Storagely, a website and online rental platform built specifically for self-storage, announced on September 2, 2026, that it has been approved for Reserve with Google. The integration, which will begin rolling out to eligible customers on September 14, 2026, enables self-storage operators to connect their locations, storage inventory, pricing, and rental experiences directly to Google Search and Maps without developing their own technical integration.
Until now, Reserve with Google capabilities in self-storage have been primarily limited to REITs and the industry's largest operators—companies with the scale and technical resources to build and maintain proprietary connections. Storagely's approval changes that dynamic by offering a turnkey solution for independent and regional operators who rely on their technology providers for advanced capabilities.
The significance of this announcement lies in its potential to democratize access to a critical customer acquisition channel. Google is where an enormous number of storage searches begin, and Reserve with Google introduces a distinct "Book Online" or "Schedule" action for eligible participating locations. This prominent call-to-action appears while consumers are actively searching, shortening the path from discovery to rental.
"Google is already where an enormous number of storage searches begin," said Austin Simmons, CEO of Storagely. "Reserve with Google gives operators a more visible way to turn that search into action. Our job is to make the distance between someone searching for storage and becoming a tenant as short as possible."
Beyond a simple booking button, the integration allows Storagely to publish a facility's available storage offerings, unit sizes, and current pricing directly to Google. This structured data includes unit types, climate-controlled options, and starting prices, all synchronized with the operator's current inventory. In an industry where availability and pricing fluctuate frequently, this real-time accuracy helps ensure consumers see what is actually rentable.
The customer journey becomes more relevant as a result. Instead of a search leading to a generic homepage where a customer must search again for a specific unit, the integration aims to connect someone interested in a 10x10 climate-controlled unit directly to that option's price and rental experience. "If the customer has already expressed what they're looking for, we shouldn't make them start over," Simmons said. "That's where this becomes much bigger than a booking button."
For eligible operators, the benefits include a prominent Book Online action, direct connections from Google Search and Maps to the rental experience, and better attribution of reservations originating from Google. The capability is subject to Google eligibility requirements and Google's determination of how actions and information are displayed. Storagely plans to make the integration available to eligible customers starting September 14, 2026. For more information, visit Storagely.io.
