ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) has published its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, revealing that the company surpassed its 2028 carbon intensity reduction target three years early and achieved 83.2% renewable energy usage. The report, released by the Singapore-headquartered global data centre provider, highlights a 70.5% reduction in carbon intensity from the 2021 baseline, a 41.2% improvement in water usage effectiveness (WUE) from the 2020 baseline, and an average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.44, reflecting a 13.0% improvement from the 2020 baseline.
The company attributes these achievements to disciplined execution of its decarbonisation strategy, which integrates sustainability into every stage of infrastructure design, construction, financing and operations. Bruno Lopez, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of STT GDC, stated in the report that responsible scaling is both a commercial and operational imperative, particularly as AI-driven workloads accelerate demand for data centre capacity. The report positions responsible growth as a core business discipline, linking sustainability performance to long-term asset resilience, customer trust and operational excellence.
Key environmental achievements include renewable energy adoption at 83.2% of total electricity consumption, supporting the company's transition towards carbon-neutral operations by 2030. Absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions also decreased by 15.2% year-on-year. Additionally, 48% of STT GDC's data centres have achieved green building certification, reflecting sustainability integration across facility lifecycles. The company's water stewardship efforts improved WUE by 41.2% from the 2020 baseline, balancing energy and water use in cooling systems.

Talent development initiatives include the DC Power Up programme and partnerships with 10 Institutes of Higher Learning across its markets, aimed at building a pipeline of industry-ready talent for the digital infrastructure sector.
Governance and resilience were strengthened through 100% employee completion of anti-corruption training and enhanced enterprise-wide risk management incorporating climate, cybersecurity and operational risks.
