The program, awarded through a competitive municipal bidding process, aims to build a transportation model centered on trust, safety, and efficiency. The partnership includes daily shuttles to the West Haven Senior Center and designated grocery shopping locations, utilizing existing schedules for residents. Every vehicle in the fleet will be equipped with front and back-facing cameras to create a visual record of each trip, ensuring passenger and driver safety. A key feature of the service is door-to-door assistance for seniors with mobility challenges. Trained drivers will provide hands-on help from the passenger's home to their seat on the shuttle and back.
