SMT Scharf AG, a global leader in bespoke transport solutions for underground mining, is advancing its Strategy 2026 through new exclusive cooperation agreements with the CFH Group in Kazakhstan and South Africa. The company announced on March 19, 2026, that the agreements aim to expand sales regions and diversify the product portfolio to better serve the increasing demand for low-emission, high-quality transport solutions in underground mining and tunneling.
Under the agreement, CFH Group will serve as the exclusive dealer for all SMT Scharf Group products in Kazakhstan via its subsidiary CFT Kazakhstan T.O.O. Conversely, SMT Scharf will act as the exclusive dealer for all CFH Group products in South Africa through its subsidiary SMT Scharf Africa (Pty.) Ltd. This strategic move is part of SMT Scharf's overarching Strategy 2026, which focuses on optimizing global supply chain efficiency, integrating group locations, and diversifying the product portfolio, particularly in electromobility and intelligent transport solutions.
The cooperation is expected to strengthen the local footprint of both companies in key mining markets. CFH Group is a globally active provider of air technology and environmental solutions for the mining and tunneling industries. By leveraging synergies between the two groups, SMT Scharf aims to integrate products across its portfolio and enhance its competitive edge. The company's existing key markets, such as China and Poland, will continue to play a central role, while SMT Scharf explores further expansion opportunities in additional markets.
Longjiao Wang, CEO of SMT Scharf AG, stated: "With the Strategy 2026, we aim to enable SMT Scharf to better serve the demand for low-emission, high-quality transport solutions in underground mining and tunnel logistics in the future. To achieve this, we will continue to develop our product portfolio in a targeted manner, particularly with regard to customer demand in the field of electromobility, and leverage synergies within the Group. Our cooperation with two Chinese suppliers in the field of LEVs strengthens the strategic development of our portfolio. The exclusive cooperation now established with CFH Group for the Kazakh and South African market represents an important step in driving our expansion into relevant mining markets worldwide."
SMT Scharf's Strategy 2026 also includes the development of light electric vehicles (LEVs) and battery-powered monorails, as well as structural changes to make the company more efficient. The agreement with CFH Group is a key milestone in this strategy, enabling SMT Scharf to offer a broader range of products and services to its customers.
