SAF-HOLLAND Names Alexandre Charpiot as New President for EMEA Region

SAF-HOLLAND SE, a global leader in trailer and truck components, has appointed Alexandre Charpiot as the new President for the EMEA region, effective September 1, 2026. He will succeed Christoph Gunter, who is departing the company to take on a leadership role elsewhere. This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time as SAF-HOLLAND continues to execute its drive2030 strategy, focusing on market growth and operational excellence.

Christoph Gunter has been instrumental in shaping the EMEA region over the past seven years, overseeing the company’s largest regional business. His achievements include the successful integration of Haldex in the region and the development of new growth opportunities in key markets. Alexander Geis, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of SAF-HOLLAND SE, expressed gratitude for Gunter’s contributions, stating, 'Christoph Gunter has successfully led and further developed the EMEA region in recent years. On behalf of the entire management team, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to him for his trust and cooperation, and I wish him all the best and continued success in his professional and personal future.'

Alexandre Charpiot brings extensive experience to his new role, having served in various leadership positions since joining SAF-HOLLAND in 2009. He has managed both original equipment and aftermarket businesses, overseeing logistics, purchasing, and product management. Since 2022, as Vice President Sales OEM EMEA, he has led sales activities in the original equipment business, managed European subsidiaries, and played a key role in integrating acquisitions such as Haldex, Tecma, and Assali Stefen. Charpiot’s deep understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and strong customer relationships position him to continue the region’s successful trajectory.

In his new capacity, Charpiot will focus on aligning the EMEA region with the strategic goals of the drive2030 strategy, which aims to strengthen SAF-HOLLAND’s market position, optimize operational performance, and pursue growth opportunities across the product portfolio. The company, headquartered in Bessenbach, Germany, reported sales of approximately EUR 1.73 billion in 2025 and employs around 5,600 people worldwide. SAF-HOLLAND’s extensive product range includes axle and suspension systems, fifth wheels, coupling systems, and brake systems, marketed under brands like SAF, Holland, Haldex, and Neway. The company is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in the Prime Standard and is included in the SDAX index.

The appointment of Charpiot signals continuity in leadership while bringing fresh perspective to drive growth in the EMEA region, which remains a critical market for the company. With his proven track record in integrating acquisitions and strengthening sales operations, Charpiot is expected to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
