Road to Responsibility (RTR), one of the largest nonprofit organizations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the region, has announced the renewal of its partnership with PLAN of MA and RI, now entering its third year. The partnership, originally established in October 2023, focuses on educating individuals, families, staff, and community members about the benefits of special needs trusts. In support of this continued collaboration, PLAN of MA and RI has granted $50,000 to RTR, doubling its contribution from the previous year.

This collaboration has provided many individuals and families served by RTR with a deeper understanding of available government assistance programs and the merits of special needs trusts."
RTR, established in 1988, supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead full, rich, and rewarding lives in the community. The organization offers residential, employment, day habilitation, and other day supports across the South Shore and South Coast of Massachusetts. With 49 residences, cooperative and supportive living apartments, and nine day-service locations, RTR serves individuals with diverse needs, including those with significant challenges who might otherwise go unserved. Its integrated clinical behavioral approach has proven successful in yielding positive outcomes.
PLAN of MA & RI, a nonprofit specializing in Special Needs Pooled Trusts, has origins dating back to the 1960s. It provides professional trustee services to individuals with disabilities, helping them preserve assets and protect access to public benefits. Licensed social workers assess beneficiaries' living situations and make recommendations to improve quality of life. PLAN's offices are located in Quincy, MA, and Providence, RI.
