REPLOID Group AG Creates Dedicated Subsidiary REPLOID REGREEN GmbH for Fertilizer Business

REPLOID Group AG has announced the formation of REPLOID REGREEN GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to producing and marketing organic fertilizers derived from insect frass. The new company, based in Wels, Austria, will be led by Managing Director Andreas Steinbüchler, who brings over 25 years of experience in the fertilizer industry, including a tenure as Chief Commercial Officer of Europe's second-largest fertilizer producer, LAT Nitrogen GmbH. The move consolidates REPLOID's fertilizer business into a focused entity, enabling agility and speed in market development.

The cornerstone of REGREEN's product line is insect frass, a nutrient-rich by-product generated when Black Soldier Fly larvae process organic residues from the food industry. This frass will be sourced from REPLOID's own ReFarmUnits. The company plans to enter the market in fall 2026 with fertilizer sticks for potted plants, followed by a lawn fertilizer and an agricultural fertilizer for commercial farming later that year. According to the press release, Europe's fertilizer market is under structural pressure due to heavy reliance on imported mineral fertilizers, tightening regulations, and soil degradation. Organic fertilizers like those from REGREEN complement mineral ones by improving nutrient efficiency, building soil organic matter, and enhancing drought resilience.

Andreas Steinbüchler emphasized the strategic importance of regionally produced organic fertilizers, stating, "Europe imports fertilizer while its soils are being depleted. Neither is a viable option in the long run. With REGREEN, we are deliberately building what has been missing: a regionally produced organic fertilizer that makes soils more fertile over the long term." CEO and Founder Philip Pauer added that the new structure underscores the fertilizer segment as a strategic growth pillar with enormous scaling potential. Steinbüchler's appointment is seen as a key asset, given his 15-plus years in leadership roles across sales, supply chain, and finance, as well as his tenure as President of the Fertilizers Europe association from 2021 to 2023.

REPLOID Group AG, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Wels, Austria, offers an innovative system for industrial utilization of regional organic residues from the food industry. The company builds and services modular insect-rearing plants, known as ReFarmUnits, where Black Soldier Fly larvae process site-specific feed mixes developed from residual materials. Customers can use the larvae or by-products themselves, or REPLOID takes them back for centralized marketing. The company sells larvae directly or after processing into proteins and fats for the animal feed industry, while insect frass is converted into premium organic fertilizer. REPLOID has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange's direct market plus segment since July 2025 and employs over 190 people.
