Renaissance BioScience Corp., a global leader in yeast bioengineering, has appointed Dr. James Tansey to its Board of Directors, the company announced July 30, 2026. Dr. Tansey brings extensive experience in life sciences, technology commercialization, fundraising and corporate governance, which will be instrumental as Renaissance continues to develop and commercialize its yeast-produced RNA and virus-like particle (VLP) platforms for crop protection and potential applications in animal and human health.
Dr. Tansey is a professor at the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business and previously taught at Oxford University's Saïd Business School. He is a member of the founding team at Gemina Labs, where he supports fundraising, business development and shareholder strategy. He also serves on the boards of dynaCERT Inc. and Vanadium Resources Ltd., and is a senior advisor to InBC, British Columbia's $500 million strategic investment fund.
