Nordex Group Secures EUR 2,475 Million ESG-Linked Facility, Enhancing Financial Flexibility

The Nordex Group has concluded a new ESG-linked syndicated Multi-Currency Guarantee Facility totaling EUR 2,475 million, marking a significant step in the company's financial strategy. The facility, with a five-year maturity through 2031, offers improved terms including a material reduction in interest rates on a like-for-like basis, enhancing the company's financial flexibility and cost efficiency.

This refinancing builds on Nordex's recent progress, as highlighted by CFO Dr. Ilya Hartmann: “We’ve been on a journey as an institution for the last 5 years. After a complete reset of the balance sheet to a solid level, a full business turnaround to industrial levels with achievement of our mid-term goals; the refinancing marks the completion of the turnaround of the company on a holistic level.” The facility is backed by 15 financial institutions, with Commerzbank, Intesa Sanpaolo - IMI CIB Division, and UniCredit Bank GmbH serving as key arrangers. Legal support was provided by Freshfields and Clifford Chance.

Guarantee facilities are essential in the wind energy industry, used to back customer projects and other contractual obligations. The increased volume and improved conditions reflect banking partners' confidence in Nordex's business development and long-term prospects. This framework enables Nordex to support customers in key regions, convert opportunities into orders, and execute its order backlog with discipline.

The Nordex Group has commissioned over 64 GW of wind power capacity in more than 40 markets since 1985, with 2025 consolidated sales of approximately EUR 7.6 billion. The company employs over 11,100 people and operates factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the USA. Its product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed for markets with limited space and constrained grid capacity. Nordex SE is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE000A0D6554).
