NeuroOne Medical Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: NMTC) released a white paper titled “StereoCED™ - A Scalable Platform for CNS Drug Delivery,” detailing how its investigational platform aims to overcome key barriers in commercializing brain therapeutics. The white paper, available in the Scientific Resources section of nmtc1.com, outlines the growing demand for efficient intracranial delivery methods as cell and gene therapies advance.

Convection-enhanced delivery (CED) has shown promise in bypassing the blood-brain barrier for targeted drug distribution, but current approaches often involve lengthy sequential infusions lasting 8 to 12 hours, which could hinder commercial scalability. The StereoCED™ platform is being designed to leverage robotic stereotactic systems already common in neurosurgical operating rooms, enabling simultaneous, multi-trajectory delivery through a streamlined workflow. This approach could significantly reduce procedure time and support reproducible, scalable therapeutic delivery, according to the company.

The platform remains under development and has not received FDA clearance or approval. NeuroOne expects device availability for research and investigational clinical studies by the end of its fiscal year. The white paper highlights that by integrating with existing robotic systems, StereoCED™ could minimize the need for specialized workflows, potentially making advanced CNS therapies more accessible across hospital settings.

NeuroOne’s existing product portfolio includes FDA-cleared electrode technologies and ablation systems for neurological disorders. The company is also pursuing research in drug delivery, basivertebral nerve ablation, and spinal cord stimulation. The StereoCED™ platform represents a strategic expansion into the growing field of CNS drug delivery, addressing a critical need for efficient, reproducible methods to deliver therapeutics directly to the brain.
