MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) is set to present its Natural Hydrogen program at the International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & Energy (IMAGE '26) in Houston on Aug. 19. The presentation by President and Director Chad Levesque will focus on Canada's first confirmed Natural Hydrogen system at the Lawson Complex in south-central Saskatchewan, and the ongoing drilling efforts aimed at delineating what the company describes as the world's first large-scale commercial discovery of a new primary energy source.
The Lawson Complex is advancing through a multi-well commercial validation program designed to define the system's scale, continuity, reservoir characteristics, and commercial potential. The first well in the program, Lawson 2, encountered approximately 860 meters of continuous elevated Natural Hydrogen readings, including the highest readings recorded to date at Lawson, while providing evidence of an enhanced fracture system within the Precambrian basement complex. Drilling has since advanced to Lawson 3, which is positioned to provide a third data point as MAX Power works to better understand the deposit's potential volume.
The significance of this announcement extends beyond the technical milestones. Natural Hydrogen, also known as white or gold hydrogen, is generated naturally in the Earth's subsurface and could offer a low-carbon energy source. If the Lawson Complex proves commercially viable, it could represent a paradigm shift in the energy sector, providing a new primary energy source that is continuously replenished. The implications are vast, potentially impacting energy security, decarbonization efforts, and the global transition to cleaner fuels.
MAX Power's exploration efforts are backed by a dominant district-scale land position across Saskatchewan, with approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits covering prime exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of Natural Hydrogen. The company also holds a portfolio of properties in the United States and Canada focused on critical minerals, including a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona, 100%-owned by MAX Power's U.S. subsidiary.
The presentation at IMAGE '26, a premier conference for applied geoscience and energy, provides a platform for MAX Power to share its findings with a global audience of geoscientists, engineers, and industry leaders. This exposure could attract potential partners, investors, and collaborators, accelerating the development of the Lawson program.
