MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) has reported significant progress in its commercial validation drilling at the Lawson Complex in south-central Saskatchewan. The completion of the Lawson 3 well has allowed the company to triangulate a large Natural Hydrogen system, while ongoing drilling at Lawson 4, located more than 2 kilometers west, has further expanded the known extent of the system. These developments are critical as the company moves toward establishing the commercial viability of Natural Hydrogen as a clean energy source.
At Lawson 4, the company intersected what it interprets as a significant deep crustal fault or conduit at a depth of 2,310.5 meters. This intersection recorded the highest Natural Hydrogen readings to date at the Lawson project, with elevated readings persisting as drilling continues through a highly fractured Precambrian basement complex. The identification of this structural feature provides valuable geological insight and strengthens the case for a robust, district-scale hydrogen accumulation.
In addition to the drilling success, MAX Power is preparing for Lawson 5, its largest step-out hole to date. This well will target the edge of the "Salt Wall," a geological structure located approximately 27 to 31 kilometers northeast of the current drilling area. The step-out is designed to test the lateral extent of the hydrogen system and further de-risk the project's resource potential. The company has also added eight new Natural Hydrogen permit parcels covering approximately 470,000 acres, expanding its total permitted land position in Saskatchewan to approximately 2.5 million acres. This aggressive land acquisition underscores the company's confidence in the region's geological potential and its commitment to securing prime exploration ground.
The Lawson Discovery represents Canada's first-ever subsurface Natural Hydrogen system confirmed through deep drilling, with data validated by three independent laboratories. This milestone positions MAX Power at the forefront of the emerging Natural Hydrogen sector, which has garnered increasing attention as a potential clean energy solution. Natural Hydrogen, or "white hydrogen," is naturally occurring and could provide a low-carbon energy source, but its commercial viability depends on finding large, accessible accumulations. The company's systematic exploration and expanding land position are crucial steps toward proving the economic feasibility of this resource.
Beyond its Natural Hydrogen endeavors, MAX Power holds a portfolio of critical mineral properties in the United States and Canada. Notably, its 100%-owned Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona saw a diamond drilling discovery in 2024, highlighting the company's diversified approach to energy transition minerals. MAX Power is committed to responsible exploration and development practices that prioritize environmental stewardship, meaningful community engagement, and strong corporate governance, ensuring that its growth aligns with broader sustainability goals.
The recent drilling results and land expansion signal a strategic advancement for MAX Power, as the company continues to build momentum in the Natural Hydrogen space. With a substantial land package and promising drill data, MAX Power is well-positioned to play a pivotal role in the development of this nascent industry, potentially contributing to the diversification of clean energy sources in Canada and beyond. As exploration progresses, the company's findings will be closely watched by investors and industry observers alike, given the transformative potential of Natural Hydrogen in the global energy transition.
