SEATTLE, WA – The Second Annual Seattle Law Rocks concert, held on September 25 at The Crocodile, raised $105,000 to support music education for underserved youth. The event, sponsored by Herschensohn Law Firm, featured amateur bands composed of legal professionals from Seattle's top law firms, competing in a battle of the bands format to benefit local nonprofit organizations.
Law Rocks is an international foundation that funds music education for underprivileged youth by partnering with local nonprofits in each host city. According to founder Nick Child, the organization's mission combines generosity with the power of music, allowing legal professionals to showcase their talents while raising funds for those less fortunate. Since implementing the Music Matters grant two years ago, Law Rocks has raised $9 million and toured to 31 cities across five continents.
The overall winner and recipient of the Hustle & Heart Award was The Funk Docket, featuring legal talent from Schroeter Goldmark & Bender, The Law Offices of Edward H. Moore, Keller Rohrback, and L.M. Jones. The band performed on behalf of the Academy for Creating Excellence (ACE). The Judges' Choice Award went to The Lumberjax, featuring legal talent from Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness, who rocked for Teen Talking Circles.
The event sold over 600 tickets, and organizers anticipate even higher attendance for the 2026 concert. Most of the funds raised will remain in the Seattle community to benefit youth music programs. The success of this year's concert underscores the legal community's commitment to philanthropy and the arts.
