LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has announced the appointment of Andrew Elinesky as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Elinesky, who brings over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience, most recently served as president and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., a company acquired in February 2025. In his new role, Elinesky will oversee corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations, while former CEO Paul Ténière will continue as president and a director, focusing on technical and operational activities.
The leadership change comes as LaFleur Minerals advances due diligence with Trafigura Canada Limited regarding a proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangement. Representatives from Trafigura and company management completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. The visit included an inspection of the mill and process circuits, a review of recommissioning progress, and an inspection of the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit. While the company noted that there is no assurance definitive agreements will be reached, the continued progress signals potential strategic partnerships and financial support for its projects.
The Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, is central to LaFleur's development strategy. The mill is being considered for processing mineralized material from the Swanson Gold Project and for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. The Swanson Gold Project, located in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Québec, includes 481 claims and one mining lease covering 200.7 square kilometers. It hosts several gold and critical metals prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining, and is easily accessible by road, providing direct access to several nearby gold mills.
Recently, LaFleur released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the Beacon Gold Mill. The PEA, while preliminary, outlines the potential for long-term value creation. However, it is important to note that the PEA includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves, and there is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.
The appointment of Elinesky and the ongoing due diligence with Trafigura come at a pivotal time for LaFleur Minerals. The company's focus on advancing the Swanson Gold Project and recommissioning the Beacon Gold Mill positions it to potentially become a significant player in the region. With Elinesky's financial expertise and Ténière's technical leadership, the company is poised to navigate the complexities of project development and financing.
Investors and stakeholders are watching closely as LaFleur Minerals continues to make strategic moves. The potential offtake and prepayment arrangement with Trafigura, a global leader in commodities trading, could provide the necessary capital to advance the Beacon Gold Mill's recommissioning and further exploration at Swanson. While the outcome of the due diligence remains uncertain, the company's proactive approach to securing partnerships and strengthening its leadership team underscores its commitment to delivering value.
