Jett Foundation announced the launch of a capital campaign to fund the construction of Jett’s Place, a premier wellness and retreat center designed as a dedicated sanctuary for individuals and families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). The announcement, made on July 15, 2026, marks the organization’s most ambitious milestone to date. The fundraising campaign has been anchored by two transformative $1 million donations from the Emilson Family and ITF Therapeutics.
Located on a 10-acre campus in Norwell, Massachusetts, Jett’s Place will serve as Jett Foundation’s national headquarters and provide barrier-free accessibility, specialized wellness care, adaptive nature and recreation, and educational programs developed with input from Duchenne families. The campaign sets a $10.7 million goal and has already raised over $5 million during its quiet phase.
“Jett’s Place will be a first-of-its-kind sanctuary where the Duchenne community can gather, learn, and heal together,” said a spokesperson for Jett Foundation. The center aims to address the unique needs of individuals with Duchenne, a progressive neuromuscular disorder that causes loss of motor, pulmonary, and cardiac function and premature death. Duchenne affects every 1 in 5,000 live male births and some females, with no cure currently available. Children with Duchenne often lose the ability to walk around age 12 and succumb to the disease in their early to mid-twenties.
The Emilson Family’s donation underscores a personal commitment to supporting the Duchenne community. ITF Therapeutics, the U.S. affiliate of Italfarmaco Group, also contributed $1 million as part of its mission to develop treatments for rare diseases. “We are proud to support Jett Foundation in creating a space that provides hope and resources for families navigating Duchenne,” said a representative from ITF Therapeutics.
