Hike Doggie Client 'Gunnar' Pens Epic 5-Star Yelp Review

A four-year-old Black Labrador Retriever named Gunnar, whose owner is Denver resident Kristi Gacke, recently posted a five-star Yelp review for Hike Doggie that has captured the attention of the dog-hiking service. The review, written from Gunnar's perspective, describes his daylong hiking adventure on June 16 as "the greatest adventure of my life," narrowly beating the time he found a half a chicken nugget in a parking lot.

Kath Allen, founder of Hike Doggie, a franchised business offering professional dog-hiking services, said the review perfectly encapsulates the brand's mission to "make dogs as happy as they make us." The review begins with a disclaimer that Gunnar is a real canine and not a paid spokesdog, then details his experience: He discovered 17 sticks, catalogued 43 different smells, and encountered numerous squirrels. After the hike, he collapsed face-first on the floor, slept for six hours, barked once in his sleep, and woke up with a leaf still stuck to his butt.

Gunnar's only complaint was that Hike Doggie eventually had to bring him back home. He signed off as "Founder & CEO of Barkshire Hathaway, as well as the Director of Sniff Operations/Lead Squirrel Intelligence Officer, Good Boy, First Class." Gacke, director of sales and marketing for HHM Hotels, said she is not surprised by the attention, noting that Gunnar has always been expressive. For more on Gunnar's review, see the full Yelp post.
