Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (CSE:GCC) (OTC:GCCFF) (WKN:A402CQ) (FSE:3TZ) announced the completion of five diamond drill holes targeting high priority structural features adjacent to the established Halo zone at its Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property in central British Columbia. The drill program, which included holes QGQ26-30 through QGQ26-34, is part of the company's ongoing exploration efforts aimed at defining the mineralized footprint of the system.
Notably, drill hole QGQ26-30, which tests the western contact of the Halo zone, will be included in Golden Cariboo's upcoming maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). This addition expands the MRE study to encompass up to 9 historical drill holes alongside the company's first 30 surface diamond drill holes. The expanded dataset enhances the geological model's scale and confidence, according to President and CEO Frank Callaghan.
Core logging and sampling are currently in progress, with assays being conducted by MSALabs of Prince George on an ongoing basis. The company's latest drilling campaign successfully stepped out to test structural contacts and the corridor toward the Main zone, maintaining cost-effective, year-round drilling operations.
The Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property, located 4 kilometers northeast of Hixon, British Columbia, covers 94,899 hectares (234,501 acres) and is bordered by Osisko Development. The property includes the Quesnelle Quartz gold-silver deposit, discovered in 1865 and developed over a footprint of about 150m x 150m at the Main zone. The geological setting shows strong similarities with the Spanish Mountain gold deposit, situated 120 km southeast along the same trend, which is considered an epizonal orogenic gold deposit.
Golden Cariboo's exploration strategy focuses on highly targeted drilling and trenching programs to rediscover the Cariboo Gold Rush. The company's property lies along a favorable corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults, with over 101 placer gold creeks on the 90-kilometer trend from the Cariboo Hudson mine north to the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property having recorded historical production.
President and CEO Frank Callaghan emphasized the significance of integrating hole QGQ26-30 into the MRE, stating it directly enhances the scale and confidence of the geological model. With assays progressing at MSALabs, the company continues to define the true footprint of the system while maintaining cost-effective drilling.
