This integration, built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allows truckers to ask questions about IFTA fuel tax, DOT compliance, and carrier information without navigating complex dashboards.
The connector addresses a common pain point for small carriers: vital operational data is often scattered across quarterly IFTA reports, driver files, dispatch logs, and federal databases. With the new tool, users can simply ask questions such as "What were my IFTA miles by state for the last quarter?" or "Which of my drivers have documents expiring in the next 30 days?" and receive immediate, plain-language answers drawn from their own FleetCollect data.
Beyond personal fleet data, the connector offers live FMCSA carrier vetting. Users can check any motor carrier by USDOT or MC number against real-time Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration data, retrieving operating authority, insurance, and safety information. This feature is particularly useful for brokers and dispatchers who need to verify partners quickly, without leaving the conversation.
Security and privacy are paramount in the design. All 14 tools in the connector are read-only, ensuring the AI can only look up and summarize information, not alter or delete anything. Driver personally identifiable information, such as emails, phone numbers, and license numbers, is filtered out and never returned. Each request is scoped to the authenticated account, so users only see their own data. The connector uses OAuth 2.1 with Dynamic Client Registration and PKCE, providing modern authentication and allowing users to revoke access at any time.

We built this so a driver can just ask — 'what do I owe in IFTA,' 'which of my guys is about to expire,' 'is this carrier legit' — and get a straight answer from their own numbers. The connector is available to active FleetCollect subscribers and is being submitted to the Claude connector directory and the ChatGPT app directory.
