Burrow & Associates, LLC, a Georgia-based law firm, has announced the launch of the Burrow & Associates Road to Recovery Scholarship, a $1,000 award designed to support one deserving student in covering tuition, books, and other academic expenses. The scholarship is open to students across the United States who have demonstrated a commitment to helping others through injury, illness, or hardship.
To apply, students must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words responding to three prompts about their experiences in aiding others through difficult times. Alongside the essay, applicants must provide a current resume and an unofficial transcript. All materials should be emailed to scholarships@legalatlanta.com. The recipient will be announced on October 1, 2027.
The scholarship is available to any student currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or professional program in the United States, including community college students, high school seniors, and GED holders. Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate a genuine commitment to assisting others during challenging periods. The award is intentionally open to all fields of study, not just those pursuing legal careers.
Eligible experiences might include caring for a family member after an accident, volunteering with individuals recovering from injury or illness, or helping a neighbor rebuild after a tough year. The scholarship aims to recognize students who have taken tangible steps to support others' recovery and plan to continue such work after graduation.
Darrell L. Burrow, founding attorney of Burrow & Associates, emphasized the personal significance of the scholarship. "After a serious injury, recovery depends on the people who step in to help, and we have seen firsthand how much that support matters for our own clients," Burrow said. "This scholarship is our way of recognizing students who have taken real action to help others recover and rebuild, and who plan to keep doing that work long after they graduate."
