The 35th Education & Careers Expo, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place from January 22 to 25 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event, open to the public with free admission, brings together over 860 organisations from 23 countries and regions, including government bureaux, tertiary institutions, and education centres, to provide information on further studies and career opportunities.
This year's expo introduces an upgraded 'CV Clinic' with new services such as Personal Colour Analysis, 16 Personality Types Magic Quiz, one-to-one trainee and career consultations, and an Aptitude Test Ready Station. These services aim to help job seekers gain insights into their personal strengths and plan career paths with greater clarity. Smiley Lam, Assistant Executive Director of HKTDC, highlighted the expo's theme, 'Go with Your Passion, Go Beyond Limits,' and its focus on four themed days: Civil Servants & Public Services, Next Gen Technologies, Healthcare & Wellness, and Greater Bay Area Opportunities.
The 'Education' section includes zones for Local Studies, Non-Hong Kong Education, Lifelong Learning, and Youth Zone. Highlights include the SOPHIE 8x solar car model developed by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the 'AI Tower Crane Simulator' from the Hong Kong Institute of Construction. The 'Non-Hong Kong Education' zone features consulates and overseas universities offering study abroad advisory services.
In the 'Careers' section, over 30 government departments and public organisations, including the Airport Authority of Hong Kong and the Judiciary, will recruit talent. The 'Recruitment Square' allows employers to conduct onsite interviews. The upgraded 'CV Clinic' offers six services, including one-to-one CV consultations and professional portrait photography by Jobsdb, and the '16 Personality Types Magic Quiz' by CTgoodjobs. Over 100 activities will feature industry experts, including singer-songwriter Serrini, film directors, and radio DJ 'Ah Jeng.' Themed days cover civil service careers on January 22, next-gen technologies on January 23, healthcare and wellness on January 24, and Greater Bay Area opportunities on January 25. Speakers include Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education, and Calvin Tse, President of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs.
